Official Portraits by FElicia schütte

On July 21, 2026, Dennis Martinus officially began a new chapter as Deputado of Bonaire, representing MPB. Following his swearing-in, the Executive Council of Bonaire was complete once again.

During the official ceremony, Dennis Martinus was sworn in by John Soliano, Gezaghebber of Bonaire, during the Island Council meeting in Kralendijk.

In English, his new position can be described as Deputy, while in Dutch he is a gedeputeerde. In Papiamentu, the commonly used term is diputado. Whatever language you use, Dennis Martinus now holds an important role within the government of Bonaire.

To mark this important moment, I had the pleasure of photographing Dennis Martinus’ official portraits, capturing him as he steps into his new public role.

Photographing Dennis Martinus in His New Role

An official portrait is about more than simply creating a professional photograph. It should reflect the person behind the position — confident, approachable and authentic.

For these portraits, my goal was to create images that represent Dennis Martinus in his new function while keeping his personality visible. These photographs can be used for official communication, media, social media and other professional purposes.

As a professional photographer in Bonaire, I especially enjoy creating portraits for people at important moments in their personal or professional lives. Executive portraits, professional headshots and official portraits require careful attention to lighting, expression and presence.

Dennis Martinus is now part of the Government of Bonaire — Gobièrnu di Boneiru — and the Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire, also known in Papiamentu as Entidat Públiko Boneiru.

It was an honour to photograph Dennis Martinus, Deputado, Deputy and gedeputeerde of Bonaire, for this new chapter.

I wish Dennis every success in his new role and in serving the people of Bonaire.
